Hi, guys!

It's a little bit late, but Here I am to  talking to you about the Mandalas! (yeeei! :3 )
So, first: what in the world is a mandala? Well, basically a mandala is a form of art therapy in wich the thing is draw and paint a circle. Sounds simple? yes, it is. Also is very fun. But not all is simple, actually it has a very deep argument.
The mandala is a spiritual and symbol ritual present in many cultures in the world, especially in Buddhism and Hinduism. The word comes from Sanskrit and it means “circle”. The basic form of most mandalas is a square with four gates containing a circle with a center point. In general it’s geometric pattern represents the cosmos or a microcosmos of the universe. So, the mandala has been long used as a healing and meditation tool.
In occident, the psychoanalyst Carl Jung used mandalas as a form of therapy. His view about it was like "a representation of the unconscious self” and believed his paintings of mandalas enabled him to identify emotional disorders and work towards wholeness in personality.

Today the art of mandala is still using as a therapy in which the shapes and even the colours chosen can be as symbolic as the artist wants them to be. Because the therapy is the  draw, the creation of the mandala itself rather than the final result. Who’s drawing only have to worry about the circular center which is the real structure of the mandala.
(the center represents the soul, the heart…the center of the universe itself).

The reason why I chose the mandala as a form of therapy because it doesn’t need anything especial to be done and had a lot of benefits as relaxation, concentration and creativity among others. So, if you are bored or need something to do: paint one! there's so many websites with mandalas in black and white so you can download it just like that and work on it C:

I think that my presentation was…too fast. I mean the basement of the mandala and the art therapy deserves a little more time to explain it. But we had no time enough and I was nervous :P

Anyway, that’s it for this week.

Byee~
